Harjinder Dhami Withdraws Resignation as SGPC Chief After Meeting Sukhbir Badal
Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, who had resigned from the post of head of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has taken a U-turn. After being persuaded by the members of Akali Dal Working Committee and Sukhbir Badal, he has agreed to withdraw his resignation. After which Dhami said that he will take up his post in three-four days. Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has been a member of SGPC since 1996.
Former Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal, who came to persuade Harjinder Singh Dhami, said - Whatever is happening with the Sikh community today, the entire community needs to fight it bravely. The strength of the Sikh community comes from the Guru's houses. We have seen that Takht Hazur Sahib, Takht Patna Sahib, Delhi SGPC, SGPC were broken and SGPC was formed and our enemies were sent there. In such a situation, there is a need for everyone to come together and identify their enemies and fight together for the community. These are the loyal soldiers of the party.
Let us tell you that Dhami's resignation was rejected by the SGPC Executive Committee on Monday. After this, Dhami told the members of the Executive Committee who had come to meet him that a decision would be taken in a day or two. After which today former Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal reached Advocate Dhami's house in Hoshiarpur to persuade him. Akali Dal Executive President Balwinder Singh Bhundar and other leaders were also with him.
