New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The day-night Test match between India and Australia is currently underway in Adelaide but Cricket Australia is facing ridicule on social media. On the very first day of the match the lights went out twice causing visible frustration among the Indian players and umpires. This led to the game being halted on two separate occasions. The first power failure occurred during the 18th over, while Harshit Rana was bowling to McSweeney. Suddenly the lights went out plunging the field into darkness and fans reacted with disappointment. Although the lights were restored shortly after the match was suspended for a brief period.

Harshit Rana was visibly upset as he resumed bowling. After delivering two balls the lights failed again just as he was preparing to bowl the fifth ball. While Indian captain Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant found the situation amusing Harshit Rana remained frustrated as his rhythm was repeatedly interrupted. In the meantime the crowd turned on their phone lights and after a short delay the lights were restored.
