New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): Jasprit Bumrah recently made a significant statement about Virat Kohli, which became a topic of discussion ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Bumrah, who is serving as India’s stand-in captain for this series, mentioned that he doesn’t feel the need to offer any input to Kohli, as he made his debut under his leadership.

Bumrah also made it clear that his team did not carry the weight of their recent 0-3 loss to New Zealand into their tour of Australia. He said, “We have learned from the New Zealand series, but the conditions here are different.”

Sharing his experience as a captain, Bumrah expressed that he has always enjoyed taking on responsibility and is relishing the opportunity. He further stated that he doesn’t see captaincy as just a position, but rather as a challenge. The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin on November 22, 2024, in Perth, and Bumrah provided an update about the team’s preparations. He mentioned that the playing XI has been decided and will be revealed before the match. Thus, Bumrah’s statement not only reflects his confidence but also underscores his respect for Virat Kohli.
