Ashu malik’s super raid powers dabang Delhi to thrilling 30-26 win over defending champs Puneri Paltan (Maharashtra)
Pune (The Uttam Hindu): Ashu Malik once again led Dabang Delhi K.C. to a thrilling 30-26 victory over defending champions Puneri Paltan in Match 102 of Season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) at the Badminton Hall in Balewadi Stadium on Monday. Malik was the top scorer for Dabang Delhi with 13 points completing his 14th Super 10 of the season which helped his team rise to fourth place on the points table. The match started with both teams evenly matched but Malik quickly asserted his dominance giving Dabang Delhi an early lead. Despite Puneri Paltan’s solid defense Dabang Delhi responded strongly to every move made by the defending champions. The game went into Do-Or-Die raids and by halftime,Dabang Delhi led 12-10.
In the second half Malik’s massive Super Raid where he took out five players from the opposition put Dabang Delhi in a commanding position reducing Puneri Paltan to just two players. However Puneri Paltan fought back with a Super Tackle by Abinesh Nadarajan and a successful raid by Akash Shinde. The game remained tight and with six minutes left the score was 21-21. At a crucial moment Dadaso Pujari and Aman of Puneri Paltan made mistakes by stepping out of bounds gifting Dabang Delhi two points. Malik then executed a brilliant raid eliminating Pankaj Mohite and Mohit Goyat leaving only Shinde on the mat. With two minutes remaining Dabang Delhi K.C. inflicted the first ALL OUT of the match tackling Shinde and securing the win. The match was a close contest but Dabang Delhi prevailed in the final moments winning 30-26.
