Punjab/Haryana (The Uttam Hindu): Travelers heading from Delhi to various cities in Haryana and Punjab are set to receive significant relief soon, as road travel in these states is about to become much easier. The 113 km stretch of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, which runs to the Punjab border, is fully ready and likely to open after Diwali. Once operational, this expressway will streamline traffic from different cities in Haryana, serving as a Diwali gift for residents of both states. This major highway is expected to enhance business opportunities in the region and lead to a rise in land prices.

The National Highway Authority of India is developing the 669 km Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Greenfield Expressway, which is being constructed in phases. The 113 km section from Sonepat to the Punjab border has been completed, allowing for easier travel to Punjab. Although the expressway will traverse most of Punjab, construction is progressing at a slower pace in that region. This highway will ultimately connect to Jammu-Katra, enhancing accessibility for travelers.

Once the entire expressway is completed, the journey from Delhi to Vaishno Devi will be significantly shortened to just 6 to 7 hours by road, compared to the current 11 to 12 hours by train. Additionally, travel time from Delhi to Amritsar will be reduced from eight hours to just four, making it much more convenient for those traveling to both Amritsar and Srinagar. Overall, this expressway will greatly improve connectivity between Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
