Rocket Attack Shakes Batala: Pro-Khalistan Militants Strike Police Station

Update: 2025-04-07 04:48 GMT

Batala(The Uttam Hindu): On the night of April 7, a rocket launcher attack occurred near the Killa Lal Singh police station in Batala, Punjab. The attack, claimed by pro-Khalistan militants, was reportedly carried out by Happy Pasiya, a member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). According to the militants, the attack was a retaliation for the police encounters in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit and Batala, where militants were killed. The blast, which was heard by local residents, created panic in the area. Three loud explosions were reported, and the police immediately began a search operation, though no official statement has been released yet.

Previous Attacks Linked to Happy Pasiya and Khalistani Groups

This recent attack is not an isolated incident. Over the past months, Punjab and Haryana have witnessed multiple grenade attacks targeting police stations, police posts, and other establishments. More than 15 such attacks have occurred, most of which were later investigated as terrorist activities linked to pro-Khalistan groups. Happy Pasiya, based in the United States, has been a key figure in these attacks, and his involvement in several grenade strikes across Punjab has been confirmed.

Following the arrest of Khalistani militant Arsh Dalla in Canada, Happy Pasiya became more active, and a series of attacks were carried out in retaliation. Authorities have announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to his capture. Pasiya, along with his associate Gopi Navansharia, continues to be involved in these terror activities, posing a significant threat to security forces in the region.
