Cambridge boy Advik Singh Shines as Best Batsman in 4th Balram Dass Tandon Inter-state cricket Tournament

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Advik Singh, a talented student of class 10 at Cambridge International School Jalandhar, has made his mark as a key player in the Punjab Cricket Team. Advik's extraordinary performance in the 4th Balram Dass Tandon Inter-State Under-16 Memorial Tournament, held in Chandigarh from November 4 to 17, has earned him widespread recognition. In the prestigious tournament, Advik, the opening batsman for the Punjab team, scored an impressive two centuries in his six innings, accumulating a total of 469 runs.


His remarkable consistency with the bat earned him the title of Best Batsman of the tournament. Advik's stellar performance has left an indelible mark on his coaches and peers alike. Speaking about his achievement, Advik expressed his gratitude towards his parents, Jaskaran and Arzanda, who have been a constant source of support and encouragement. "I owe a lot of my success to my coach, Ajay Joshi, who has been an incredible mentor and guide throughout my journey," said Advik. Under the mentorship of Coach Ajay Joshi, Advik practices daily for 7-8 hours at Burlten Park in Jalandhar. In addition to his skills as an opening batsman, Advik is also a skilled spin bowler, making him a versatile asset for the team. Advik, who is the only player from Jalandhar to be selected for the 16-player Punjab squad, has set his sights high.


His ultimate ambition is to represent the Indian national team in the prestigious ICC World Cup. "I dream of playing for India one day, just like my idol, Virat Kohli," said Advik, who looks up to the cricketing legend for his dedication and passion. Looking ahead, Advik is eagerly preparing for the Vijay Merchant Trophy, one of the most famous youth cricket tournaments, which will be held in Karnataka from December 6.
