12th-Grade Student Dies by Suicide in Amritsar, Investigation Underway
Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): A 12th-grade student in Amritsar's Katra Khazana Gate area tragically ended his life by hanging himself. The deceased, identified as 18-year-old Nikhil, was found at his home on Tuesday.
According to reports, Nikhil was at home with his mother and younger brother at the time of the incident, while his father was in Delhi. Before taking the extreme step, he asked his brother to go out and bring food. When his brother returned, he found Nikhil hanging and immediately rushed him to the hospital, where he passed away during treatment.
Nikhil's mother, Neha, stated that he attended a private school and had a friendship with a female student from the same school. A few days prior, he had a dispute with her and her friends over some issue.
Family members reported that they discovered some troubling chats and call records on Nikhil's mobile phone that may have contributed to his decision to take this drastic step. The police at D Division station are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. They have seized the deceased's mobile phone and stated that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty during the investigation.
The family has appealed to the police administration for justice. The body has been sent for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, the police are also considering the possibility of a dispute related to a romantic relationship in their investigation.
