New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After a successful election win, PM Modi is once again heading to Panipat, Haryana, on December 9, where he will launch the Bima Sakhi Yojna, a major welfare initiative. Women aged 18 to 50 years, who are 10th grade pass and belong to rural areas, will be eligible to apply for this scheme if they have an interest in insurance services.

Empowering Women with Employment

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for Maharana Pratap Horticulture University’s main campus in Panipat, a project costing ₹400 crore. As part of his visit, the Bima Sakhi Yojna will be inaugurated, aimed at providing employment and financial independence to women. The scheme’s goal is to empower women economically by involving them as insurance agents.

Salary under the Bima Sakhi Yojna

Women joining the scheme will work as insurance agents, visiting homes to sell policies. The scheme offers a salary structure where women will receive ₹7,000 per month in the first year, ₹6,000 in the second year, and ₹5,000 in the third year. Women who meet their targets will also receive a commission, along with an additional ₹2,100 as an incentive.

Documents Required to Apply

To apply for the Bima Sakhi Yojna, women will need to provide some essential documents: an Aadhar card or another ID, proof of residence, bank account details, a passport-size photograph, and educational qualifications (at least 10th grade). Initially, 35,000 women will be included in the scheme.

How to Apply

Women can apply for the Bima Sakhi Yojna both online and offline. To apply offline, they need to visit their nearest LIC office. For online applications, they can visit the official government website, fill out the form, upload necessary documents, and submit it.
