PM Modi calls MVA alliance 'biggest players in corruption' at Maharashtra rally

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public rally in Chimur, Maharashtra, on Tuesday, launched a strong attack on the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, calling it the "biggest player in corruption." The MVA, which includes the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Shiv Sena (UBT), was accused by Modi of hindering the state's development and being expert in blocking progress.

PM Modi claimed that the MVA had thwarted long-standing demands for improved rail connectivity in Maharashtra. He said, “The people here have been asking for rail connectivity for decades, but Congress and the Aghadi parties never allowed it to happen. These parties specialize in putting brakes on Maharashtra’s development.” He further criticized the Congress for attempting to divide the tribal community by caste. “The tribal population is about 10% of our country, but Congress wants to split them into different castes, weakening their unity and identity. This will destroy their strength. Congress’ plans are to divide the Adivasi community, and we must not fall into their trap. We need to stay united,” he added, referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's proposal for a caste census.

The Prime Minister also touched on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, referring to the controversial Article 370, which granted special status to the region. He stated that Congress and its allies had politically profited from separatism and violence in the region. “Just a few weeks ago, we witnessed the ongoing unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, which was fueled by Article 370, a law that was a legacy of the Congress. Once we abolished this Article, we fully integrated Kashmir with India and its Constitution,” Modi said.
