New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Raids were conducted on Monday in Chatra district Jharkhand as part of an ongoing investigation into a conspiracy linked to the Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) a splinter group of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist). The operation targeted three locations focusing on evidence related to extortion levy collection and money laundering allegedly carried out by TSPC members. Authorities seized mobile phones SIM cards and other critical materials during the searches. These properties were linked to suspected operatives and overground workers (OGWs) believed to be collaborating with senior TSPC cadres.

The investigation rooted in FIR RC-06/2018/NIA/DLI began with a case registered by Tandwa police in January 2016 and was taken over in February 2018 due to its significant national security implications. So far charges have been filed against 21 individuals. The accused are suspected of facilitating illegal activities to generate funds for the Maoist group and laundering the proceeds.

Officials have been closely tracking the TSPC’s operations which allegedly include violent and subversive acts under the CPI (Maoist) umbrella. Efforts are ongoing to dismantle the financial and logistical networks enabling such groups. More developments are expected as investigations deepen. Significant progress has been made in past operations against Maoist groups including similar crackdowns by Jharkhand Police. This latest action highlights the relentless efforts to curtail the influence and activities of splinter factions threatening internal security.
