Noida (The Uttam Hindu): In a case of medical negligence, a seven-year-old boy underwent surgery on the wrong eye at Anand Spectrum Hospital in Greater Noida on November 12. The boy had been taken to the hospital by his parents for treatment of persistent watering in his left eye. After an examination, Dr. Anand Verma informed the family that a plastic-like object was present in the boy’s left eye and that surgery was necessary to remove it.

The surgery, which cost ₹45,000, was performed on the boy, named Yudhisthir. However, upon returning home, his mother noticed that the wrong eye had been operated on—the right eye instead of the left. Distressed, the parents confronted the doctor, but they allege that both Dr. Verma and his staff behaved inappropriately.

The family then raised the matter with hospital authorities and filed a formal complaint with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Buddha Nagar. They have demanded that the doctor’s medical license be revoked and the hospital sealed. The police have initiated an investigation, and authorities have promised that appropriate action will be taken in response to the complaint.
