Major Terror Crackdown: 13 ISI-Backed Terrorists Arrested, Huge Arms Consignment Seized
Punjab (The Uttam Hindu) : Police has busted two terror modules and arrested 13 terrorists, including a minor. A huge consignment of weapons has been recovered during the operation conducted on the basis of intelligence input. The arrested terrorists had planned to carry out target killings of several police stations and people. Punjab Police has achieved a major success by busting two terror modules supported by Pakistani intelligence agency ISI being operated from abroad by Babbar Khalsa International. Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav has given this information. Police has recovered RPG (including a launcher), two IEDs of 2.5 kg each, 2 hand grenades with detonators, 2 kg RDX with remote control, 5 pistols, 6 magazines, 44 live cartridges, 1 wireless set and 3 vehicles from the arrested terrorists.
Greece and Pakistan based terrorists were running the module
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Babbar Khalsa International terrorist Satnam Singh alias Satta Naushera is carrying out terrorist activities in the country through his henchmen while sitting in France. His four henchmen Jatinder alias Honey, Jagjit alias Jagga Kapurthala, Harpreet and Jagroop Hoshiarpur have been arrested. Police recovered a loaded RPG, 2 IEDs (2.5 kg each), 2 grenades with detonators, 2 kg RDX remote control, 3 pistols, 6 magazines, 34 live rounds, 1 wireless set and other items. The second module is linked to Greece and Pakistan. This module is being run by Greece and Pakistan based terrorists. Jaswinder alias Mannu Agwan, hiding in Greece, is linked to Pak based Harvinder Rinda. 9 terrorists of this module have been arrested, including a minor. Police have recovered 1 RPG launcher, 2 pistols, 10 cartridges, 3 vehicles from them.
The terrorist module was wiped out after a four-day operation
Police claim that the targets of the arrested terrorists were Punjab police stations and prominent people. Punjab Police has wiped out two terrorist modules in a four-day operation. These people were involved in anti-national activities at the behest of ISI. Soon all of them will be produced in court and taken on remand. Many more big revelations are likely to be made during interrogation.
