Mahila Samriddhi Yojana: See Who's Eligible for ₹2,500 Monthly Aid

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu):  In a significant move to empower women from economically weaker sections, the Delhi government has approved a new scheme, providing ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance to eligible women. This initiative aims to support women who are struggling to make ends meet and provide them with a sense of financial security. To avail the benefits of the scheme, women must meet the following criteria:

- Age: Between 21 and 59 years

- Residency: Must be a resident of Delhi for at least 5 years

- BPL Card: Must hold a Below Poverty Line (BPL) card

- Aadhaar Card and Bank Account: Must have an Aadhaar card and a bank account in her name, linked to Aadhaar

- Registration: Must register on the government website with necessary documents

Exclusions :The following women will not be eligible for the scheme:

- Government Employees: Women working in government services, including central, state, or corporation jobs

- Pensioners: Women receiving pensions

- Families with Income Taxpayers: Women from families with income taxpayers

The Delhi government estimates that around 1.5 to 2 million women in Delhi may be eligible for this financial aid. This scheme is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of these women, enabling them to meet their daily expenses and improve their overall well-being.
