Devastating Fire at Jhansi Medical College Claims 10 Innocent Lives
Uttarpradesh (The Uttam Hindu): A massive fire has erupted in the children's wing of Jhansi Medical College. Rescue workers are trying to break windows to rescue the children. Several have reportedly got burnt and ten innocent lives are feared to be lost. Many fire engines have been deployed to the location, and children are being evacuated through broken windows. So far, 37 children have been rescued, though many others are believed to still be trapped inside.
The Chief Minister of the state of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, termed the incident as "very tragic" and called for urgent relief measures.
The worrying factor is it started from the pediatric ICU and the videos emerging showing dense smoke. The rescues are being carried out through a narrow window. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accepted the incidence and closely monitoring the measures being taken. He has also sought a detailed report by tomorrow.
