Winter Fury: Snowfall in the Mountains, Cold Wave Deepens in Punjab and Haryana

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Cold wave continues to hit the northern parts of the country. Delhi-NCR is covered with dense fog and the temperature is continuously falling. Punjab and Haryana are also experiencing severe cold, while a slight increase in temperature has been recorded in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. Delhi-NCR: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), moderate fog is expected in Delhi on Monday and the maximum temperature is likely to be 23 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 5 degrees Celsius. Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) has been recorded in the 'poor' category. Punjab and Haryana: Faridkot has been the coldest place in Punjab and Haryana where the minimum temperature was recorded at one degree Celsius. Nights were also very cold in Gurdaspur, Bathinda, Ludhiana and Patiala. In Haryana, Hisar, Narnaul, Bhiwani, Gurugram, Rohtak and Ambala are also experiencing severe cold.

Himachal Pradesh: Temperatures have increased by three to five degrees in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh, while cold wave conditions persist in the lower hills. Tabo has been the coldest place in the state where the temperature was recorded at minus 10.6 degrees Celsius. Shimla has been the hottest place. The local weather office has issued a yellow alert regarding cold wave in the lower hills and plains. Kashmir: Kashmir has got some relief from the cold wave due to increase in minimum temperature. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 3.4 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain dry in North India for the next few days. However, cold wave is expected in many places.
