Maharajganj (The Uttam Hindu): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during his visit to Maharajganj on Saturday, praised the passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament, calling it a significant step to prevent illegal encroachments on Waqf land. He assured that no one would be able to occupy Waqf Board lands any longer. The Chief Minister highlighted that the Bill would ensure the proper use of Waqf properties for public welfare purposes, including the development of schools, hospitals, colleges, barrages, and housing projects. While addressing a public gathering, CM Yogi also vowed to eliminate poverty in Uttar Pradesh within the next three years, aiming to make the state the number one in the country.

On the occasion of Ashtami during Vasanti Navratri, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the shrine of Maa Banailiya Devi. Later, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 629 development projects worth Rs 654 crore, including the long-awaited Rohin Barrage in the Nautanwa assembly constituency. The barrage, named after Maa Banailiya Devi, will help farmers by providing flood protection and irrigation, while also boosting employment through tourism and related activities.

CM Yogi highlighted Uttar Pradesh's economic growth, noting that the state had moved from being the seventh-largest economy in India in 2017 to the second-largest today. He also emphasized the successful completion of the Saryu Canal Project, which had been delayed for decades but was finished after the BJP came to power. In terms of educational reforms, CM Yogi pointed to the establishment of Atal Residential Schools for workers' children and Chief Minister Composite Schools in every development block. He also noted the improvement in law and order, stating that festivals, once plagued by fear, are now celebrated peacefully.

Additionally, CM Yogi mentioned that under his leadership, farmers are being empowered, youth are finding employment, and women are becoming self-reliant. He also remarked on the successful control of diseases like encephalitis, dengue, and malaria. During his visit to Maharajganj, he announced plans to promote gaushalas (cow sheds) and dairy production, alongside the upcoming inauguration of a Kendriya Vidyalaya and a sports stadium. The district, under the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Yojana, has seen 1,000 youths benefit from interest-free loans. Further plans include promoting Kala Namak rice, Sri Anna, natural farming, dairy, and fisheries in the region.
