Businessman Faces Massive ₹210.42 Crore Electricity Bill, Causes Stir Among Consumers

Himachal Pradesh (The Uttam Hindu) :  In a bizarre incident, a resident of Himachal Pradesh received an electricity bill of Rs 200 crores leaving him stunned. The bill which was reportedly generated by the state electricity board  has been termed as an "error" by officials. According to reports, the man  a resident of Shimla  had received his previous electricity bill of Rs 1,387. His latest bill, however  showed an amount of Rs 2,006,433,100.

"I was shocked when I saw the bill," the man said. "I couldn't understand how the amount could be so high. I have been using electricity for years, but I have never received such a huge bill." The state electricity board has since clarified that the bill was an error and that the correct amount would be generated soon. "We apologize for the mistake," an official said. "We are investigating the matter and will ensure that the correct bill is generated at the earliest."

The incident has raised questions about the efficiency of the state's electricity billing system and the need for greater transparency and accountability. The man has been advised not to pay the bill until the correct amount is generated.
