Brutal Murder in Himachal: Girl's Body Found Under Culvert, Investigation On

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Another murder has been reported in Himachal Pradesh, where police discovered the body of a young woman under a culvert in a drain in Una district. Authorities suspect that the woman was raped before being murdered and her body was dumped at the location. A case of murder has been registered, though the victim's identity remains unknown.

The body, believed to be of a woman aged between 25 and 30 years, was found under a culvert on Ambota Road in the Gagret police station area. The victim had no clothes on, her face was severely mutilated, and insects were crawling on her body. The police have initiated a murder investigation and are preparing for the post-mortem examination.

The discovery was made on Tuesday morning when some locals went to the forest near Ambota Road, close to Asha Devi Temple, to cut grass. They noticed a foul smell and, upon looking under the culvert, were horrified to find the woman's naked and mutilated body. After being alerted, the police arrived at the scene and confirmed the gruesome details. It is suspected that the woman was sexually assaulted before being killed. DSP Dr. Vasudha Sood confirmed the incident and stated that a murder case has been registered. The RFSL team has been called to the scene to collect forensic evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
