Liquor Smuggling Gang Busted, Foreign Liquor and Vehicles Worth Lakhs Seized

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Dabwali police is tightening the noose on drug smugglers who are smuggling drugs illegally in Haryana's Sirsa district and in this sequence, on Sunday, an interstate liquor smuggling gang was busted.

In the latest case, the team of Dabwali Police in-charge of Anti Narcotics Cell, Sub Inspector Suresh Kumar, during patrolling near Rohida Wali Bus Stand on Dabwali Sirsa Road, arrested a liquor smuggler with a large consignment of 96 boxes (about 12,00 bottles) of English liquor brands Royal Slog and McDowell worth about Rs 25 lakh and an Eicher Canter. The arrested person has been identified as Vijay Kumar son Jagdish resident Sadalpur district Hisar.

Giving detailed information in this regard, Mr. Suresh Kumar said that today a team under the leadership of head constable Pradeep Kumar was present on Dabwali to Sirsa Road near Rohida bus stand for patrolling and investigation of crime, when on the basis of suspicion, he stopped a Tata Canter with the help of fellow employees and carried out a search as per rules, then about 96 boxes of English liquor of Punjab brand McDowell and Royal Stag were recovered hidden under plastic cartons in the Canter, and a case was registered under section 61/4/20/72F in Police Station Aundha.

When the arrested Canter driver Vijay was questioned thoroughly by the police, he told that he was carrying this consignment of liquor from Punjab to Hisar. Vijay who was arrested will be produced in the court and taken on police remand for thorough interrogation and other people involved in this illegal liquor smuggling will also be arrested.
