Accused Arrested for Illegal Mining, Created Fake Mining Dept. Website

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab Cyber State Crime Division has arrested Gaurav Kumar, the accused involved in illegal mining in the state. The accused had created a fake website resembling the Punjab Government's Mining Department site to facilitate illegal mining activities. To bypass security checks, he generated over 2,000 counterfeit receipt barcodes and QR codes. This fraudulent operation allowed him to carry out illegal mining and defraud the government of approximately Rs 50 lakh.
