Cuttack (The Uttam Hindu): A stampede occurred at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Wednesday, ahead of the second ODI match between India and England, set to take place on February 9. Several individuals were reported injured in the incident and were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

The excitement among spectators for the upcoming ODI match led to massive crowds at the ticket counters, which opened on Wednesday. Thousands of fans gathered to purchase tickets, with more than 10,000 people in line. As the queue grew longer, the situation quickly spiraled out of control, and the police struggled to manage the increasing crowd.

At one point, some people were allowed to bypass the queue and purchase tickets without waiting, which led to protests and further escalated the chaos. The authorities are investigating the situation and ensuring the safety of attendees.
