Pastor Bajinder Singh Found GUILTY of Sexual Harassment, Pronouncement of sentence on 1 April
Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): A court in Punjab's Mohali has convicted self-styled pastor and Punjab prophet Bajinder Singh, also known as 'Yashu Yashu' pastor, in a 2018 sexual harassment case. The court acquitted five others accused in the same case. The pronouncement on sentence of punishment will be on April 1. According to the prosecution, the survivor, a woman from Zirakpur, Punjab, accused Bajinder Singh of sexually assaulting her at his residence in Sector 63, Chandigarh, and recording the act. She alleged that he threatened to release the video on social media if she reported the incident or refused to comply with his demands.
Bajinder Singh was arrested at the Delhi airport in 2018 while boarding a flight to London, where he was set to attend a healing event. His supporters had protested against his arrest, demanding the cancellation of the FIR lodged against him. This conviction comes amid a string of allegations against Bajinder Singh, including a recent case filed against him over a viral video showing him thrashing a man and a woman. Another case was registered against him earlier this month for alleged sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation of a 22-year-old woman in Punjab's Kapurthala.
