Parveen Sinha Appointed as Punjab Vigilance Chief After Suspension of Predecessor
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu):In a key administrative reshuffle, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Intelligence, Parveen Sinha, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Punjab Vigilance Chief. The decision follows the suspension of the previous officer holding the post, IPS Surinder Pal Singh.
The state government has not disclosed the detailed reasons behind the suspension, but sources suggest it is linked to recent internal assessments and ongoing investigations within the department. Sinha, known for his sharp administrative acumen and clean track record in the intelligence wing, is expected to bring a tighter grip on vigilance operations across the state.
Officials believe that his dual role could help streamline coordination between intelligence and anti-corruption efforts, especially at a time when the government is under pressure to demonstrate stronger internal accountability. The appointment is being seen as a strategic move to reinforce oversight in state affairs and ensure transparency within law enforcement agencies.
