Major Conspiracy Foiled in Mumbai: 5 Lawrence Gang Members Arrested in Plot to Attack Prominent Businessman
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The Anti Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Crime Branch in Mumbai has arrested five suspects from a hotel. All these accused are said to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and were planning to attack a big industrialist and other persons in Mumbai. The police have recovered 7 country-made pistols, 21 live cartridges and 2 SIM cards from the possession of the accused. However, the police have not yet disclosed on whom the attack was being planned.
Big conspiracy failed in Mumbai… 5 members of Lawrence gang arrested, they were planning to attack a big businessman: The arrested accused have been identified as Vivek Kumar Gupta, Sumit Kumar Dilawar, Vikas Dinesh Thakur alias Vicky, Devendra Saxena and Shreyas Yadav. Vivek Gupta is a resident of Alwar district in Rajasthan, while Sumit Kumar belongs to Sonipat in Haryana. Vikas alias Vicky is a resident of Gorakhpur in UP. Devendra Saxena is a resident of Indore in Madhya Pradesh and Shreyas Yadav is a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar.
According to the police, some of the arrested accused have been involved in criminal activities earlier as well. Vikas Thakur alias Vicky has a case registered against him for possessing illegal weapons in Sendhwa, Uttar Pradesh. Sumit Kumar Dilawar has several cases registered against him in Haryana for attempt to murder, physical assault, Arms Act and other serious crimes.
According to the police, the arrested accused had come to Mumbai to attack a famous businessman and others. However, the police have not shared information about who their target was. During interrogation, it has also come to light that the accused were taking shelter at a hideout in Mumbai with weapons and were planning to carry out the attack. After the arrest, the police have also started investigating the activities around the hotel, so that it can be found out who else could be involved in this conspiracy.
