CJI Sanjeev Khanna's Reform Push: Public Disclosure of Supreme Court Judges' Assets

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) :  Taking a major decision, the Supreme Court has said that all 33 judges of the apex court will make public the details of their assets. This decision has been taken to maintain the confidence of the people amid discussions related to corruption in the judiciary.


How much property do Supreme Court judges have?

According to the Supreme Court website, the Supreme Court judges have agreed to make their asset declaration public to ensure transparency. In a full court meeting, it has been decided that the judges of the apex court will upload their asset data on the Supreme Court website.


CJI will also make public the details of his assets

According to the Supreme Court website, the declaration of assets on the Supreme Court website will be on a voluntary basis. Thirty judges, including the Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna, have submitted their asset declarations. It is noteworthy that all the judges of the Supreme Court have already given the details of their assets, but this information has not been made public yet.
