Hindus Targeted in Pahalgam Attack: Victims Killed for Failing to Recite Kalma and Ayat
Pahalgam (The Uttam Hindu): The families of the tourists who died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam are crying inconsolably. Most of these people had gone to Pahalgam as tourists to spend happy moments with their families, but the terrorists did a cowardly act and opened fire on them. Among the dead is Shubham Dwivedi of Kanpur, who was married to Aishnya just two months ago. Shubham Dwivedi's cousin said that Bhabhi informed him about his brother being shot. The cousin said that brother and Bhabhi were eating Maggi when suddenly two men in uniform came to them and asked, are you Muslim? If yes, then recite Kalma, when the answer was not correct, he was murdered.
Asawari Jagdale, the 26-year-old daughter of a Pune businessman who was a victim of the terror attack, said that during the attack the terrorists cursed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked her father, 56-year-old Santosh Jagdale, to recite an Islamic verse. When he failed, they opened fire on him. Asawari said that she does not know whether her father and uncle are alive or not. Asawari, an HR professional in Pune, said over the phone, "We were a group of five people, which included my parents as well. We had come here for a vacation."
According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists were in the uniform of the local police and had masks on their faces. First they asked the tourists their names, then their religion, and then forced them to recite Kalma. Those who could not recite Kalma or hesitated were shot dead on the spot. Most of the targets were Hindu men.
