CM Mann Announces Establishment of Centre at GNDU in Memory of Surjit Patar
Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, in collaboration with Punjab Arts Council, Chandigarh and Language Department Punjab, Patiala, organised Surjit Patar Memorial Function today at the Golden Jubilee Convention Centre (GNDU).
At the ceremony, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that Patar Sahib's death was very shocking for me. Mann announced that we will set up a centre named Surjit Patar Ethical AI in GNDU University, Amritsar. The best facilities will be provided in the centre. This is the duty of our government. Patar Sahib has made a significant contribution to the Punjabi language. Along with this, we will also give Surjit Patar Memorial Award in the future.
While giving information about Surjit Patar to the people, Mann said that Surjit Patar has given a new form to Punjabi poetry and his poems have also been translated into many languages. During this, CM Mann has announced to set up a center in GNDU University in the name of poet Surjit Singh Patar. The name of this center will be Surjit Patar Ethical AI. Along with this, in the coming time, Surjit Patar Memorial Award will be given to new poets.
