New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant move, the Centre is gearing up to link voter IDs with Aadhaar cards. To discuss the modalities of the linking process, a meeting was held between officials of the Election Commission and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Tuesday. The commission has clarified that the linking process will be carried out in accordance with existing laws and Supreme Court guidelines. The linking process is voluntary and citizens can choose to link their voter IDs with their Aadhaar cards. The government has assured that those who do not link their Aadhaar cards with their voter IDs will not be deleted from the voter list. So, how can you link your voter ID with your Aadhaar card?

Linking Process: There are multiple ways to link your voter ID with your Aadhaar card:

- Online Mode: You can link your voter ID with your Aadhaar card online through the National Voter Service Portal (NVSP) or the Voter Helpline App.

- Offline Mode: You can also link your voter ID with your Aadhaar card offline by submitting an application to your respective Booth Level Officer (BLO).

- SMS: You can link your voter ID with your Aadhaar card by sending an SMS to 166 or 51969 in the specified format.

- Phone: You can also link your voter ID with your Aadhaar card by calling 1950 on weekdays between 10 am and 5 pm.
