Gunshots Erupt Near Nanded Gurudwara, Two Injured in Shocking Attack
Maharashtra(The Uttam Hindu): A shooting incident occurred near the Gurudwara Sahib in Nanded district on Monday, leaving two individuals injured. Among the victims was Gurmeet Singh, a convict released on parole in a murder case. According to police officials, the assailants arrived on a two-wheeler and opened fire on the two individuals who were standing near the Gurudwara. The shooting occurred around 12:30 PM, and the attackers fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
Police Superintendent Avinash Kumar confirmed that the incident is linked to a murder case involving mafia figure Rinda's brother. Gurmeet Singh and Ravinder Singh Rathore, both parolees, were attacked while parked near their vehicles. The two were rushed to Vishnupuri Government Hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause of the attack, though the motive remains unclear. Police are also reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify the suspects.
Nanded is home to one of the five Sikh Takhts, Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Abichal Nagar Sahib. The incident has raised concerns about security near the religious site, and authorities are stepping up efforts to ensure the safety of visitors and devotees in the area.
