Bollywood Grieves as Popular Actress’s Mother Dies After Sudden Stroke

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is mourning the loss of her mother, Kim Fernandez, who passed away after a prolonged battle in the ICU. The heartbreaking news has come as another emotional blow to the film industry, which is still reeling from the recent demise of veteran actor Manoj Kumar.

Kim Fernandez, who largely stayed away from the public eye, was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on March 24 after suffering a stroke. She remained in the Intensive Care Unit for 13 days. Jacqueline, who was away for professional commitments, immediately returned to Mumbai to be by her mother's side and remained with her throughout the hospitalization.

While the family has not issued an official statement yet, sources close to them confirmed that the funeral will be held in a private ceremony, attended only by close family and friends.

The actress had also withdrawn from her scheduled performance at the IPL 2025 opening ceremony in Guwahati, which was to be held on March 26, prioritizing her mother’s health over her professional engagements. During this time, Salman Khan, a close friend and co-star from the film Kick, also visited the hospital to offer support.

Kim Fernandez, though away from the limelight, was a strong pillar in Jacqueline’s life. Her sudden demise has left the actress deeply heartbroken.

On the work front, Jacqueline was last seen in Fateh alongside Sonu Sood. She is set to appear in upcoming projects including Raid 2, Welcome to the Jungle, and Welcome 5 with Ajay Devgn.

The industry and her fans have expressed their condolences and are standing in solidarity with the actress during this difficult time.
