LUDHIANA (The Uttam Hindu): The Bharatiya Janata Party today took a dig at the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in the state for organizing an “educational” tour of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia of Punjab schools purportedly to help in reforming the school education here.

Reacting to Sisodia’s visit, senior BJP leader and state general secretary Anil Sarin said, the “education model” that has already been rejected by the people of Delhi is now being tried in Punjab. “It is not even like the old wine in new bottles”, he remarked, while adding, “it is like dumping the rejected and rotten wine in Punjab”.

Sarin observed that the AAP government in Punjab had, in any case, already rejected the Delhi model in the past. He pointed out, the Punjab government sent its teachers to the foreign countries for study tours and none of them was sent to Delhi. “If Delhi model was so good and great, why did Punjab not send its teachers there?” he asked.

The BJP general secretary maintained that these “educational” tours were just a camouflage to provide the Delhi leaders a foothold in Punjab. “Since they have been completely rendered idle and jobless in Delhi, now they are roaming around in Punjab with government patronage to find jobs”, he remarked.
