Beer Bottles in Hands of Minor Girls in Jalandhar Spark Outrage, Viral Video Raises Concerns
Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): A serious incident has come to light at a liquor shop located near Kachari Chowk in Jalandhar, where school girls were seen with beer bottles in their hands. A passerby captured this incident on camera. When the passerby spoke to the liquor contractor in this regard, he started laughing and avoiding the issue saying that this is a daily routine. The worrying thing is that the age of the three girl students seen in the video is below 18 years, due to which selling alcohol to them is a legal offence. This incident has once again raised questions about the sale of alcohol to minors in liquor shops.
After this incident came to light, many serious questions are being raised. The first and foremost question is whether the liquor shop employees checked the age of the girl students while selling them alcohol? If this was not done, then it is clearly gross negligence and a direct violation of the law. Selling alcohol to minors is a legal offense, and it is the responsibility of the shop employees to ensure that alcohol is sold only to adult individuals.
The second question is about the monitoring of liquor shops in this area. Is there adequate monitoring of liquor shops in this area? Are there regular checks by the local administration and the excise department to ensure that the rules are being followed? The third and final question is whether appropriate legal action will be taken after this particular incident? Will a case be filed against the shop owner and employees and will they be punished according to the law?
Only by getting answers to these questions will it be clear how seriously the administration takes this matter and what steps it takes to prevent such incidents in future. Investigation by the police and excise department is necessary in this case so that appropriate action can be taken against the culprits and such incidents can be prevented in future.
