New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The world’s tallest and shortest women recently met for afternoon tea in honor of the 20th annual Guinness World Records Day. Rumeysa Gelgi, a 27-year-old web developer from Turkey, and 30-year-old Indian actress Jyoti Amge, enjoyed an afternoon together at The Savoy hotel in London, exchanging stories and life experiences.

Gelgi, who stands at 215.16 cm (7ft 1in), holds the Guinness World Record (GWR) for being the world’s tallest woman, while Amge, at just 62.8 cm (2ft 1in), is the shortest. "It was incredible to meet Jyoti for the first time," Gelgi shared. "At times, it was hard to make eye contact because of our height difference, but it was a wonderful experience." Both women found common ground, bonding over shared interests like makeup, self-care, and doing their nails. Amge expressed her joy at the meeting, saying, "I’m used to looking up at taller people, but today it was so special to look up at the world’s tallest woman. I’m so happy to have met Rumeysa, she is so kind and easy to talk to."

Gelgi has Weaver syndrome, a rare condition that causes accelerated growth and skeletal deformities. She is only the 27th person diagnosed with the condition and the first in Turkey. Despite her challenges, including using a wheelchair and walker, she refuses to let them define her. Amge, known for her role as Ma Petite in *American Horror Story*, has achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism. Both women have been recognized as Guinness World Records icons in the 70th-anniversary edition of the book, alongside other notable record holders like Diana Armstrong (longest fingernails), Sultan Kosen (world's tallest man), and strongman Dave Walsh.

Guinness World Records editor-in-chief, Craig Glenday, commented, "This event celebrates our differences, and bringing these two extraordinary women together allows them to share their unique perspectives with each other and with the world. These record holders truly embody the spirit of Guinness World Records, representing a wide range of fields from science and technology to sports and entertainment."
