46-Year-Old Temple Found Closed in Muslim-Dominated Area of Sambhal During Electricity Theft Crackdown
Sambhal (The Uttam Hindu): After the recent violence in Sambhal, the police administration has started a big action against the miscreants. During this, a shocking revelation has been made. On Saturday, the police recovered a 46-year-old Hindu temple while conducting a checking campaign in Deepa Rai area. This temple is located just 200 meters away from the house of SP MP Ziaur Rahman Barq. Hanuman ji's statue, Shivling and Nandi are installed inside the temple.
This temple was found when the police were taking action against electricity theft. Sambhal SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that the electricity department officials had told him that when they go to investigate electricity theft, the influential people threaten them. After this, the police started a large-scale action against illegal encroachment and electricity theft.
Additional SP Shrish Chandra said that during the investigation it was found that some people had occupied this temple by building houses. The police has got the temple cleaned and action will be taken against those who had occupied the temple. He said, we had received information about an ancient well in front of the temple. Upon digging, a well was found in the area.
Additional SP said that at one time Hindu families used to live in this area and due to some reasons they left this area. After which this temple remained closed. After this incident, the administration has made strong arrangements for the security of the temple. Also, strict action will be taken against those who had occupied the temple. There is a lot of anger among the local people after this incident. People are demanding from the administration that this temple should be restored again and worship should be started here.
