Kyiv (The Uttam Hindu): Two Russian helicopters flying over the Black Sea were targeted by Ukraine’s naval drone. One helicopter was completely destroyed, while the other was damaged. This marks the first time that a Ukrainian drone has targeted a Russian helicopter.

Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Service shared the video of the attack on the social media platform X. The video shows a Russian Mi-8 helicopter being shot down by Ukraine’s Magura V5 naval drone. In the video, gunfire is seen splashing in the water near the drone boat, indicating it came under attack. A thermal image of the helicopter is also visible, and a missile can be seen being fired. The video is not very clear, but there is significant movement near the water. It appears that the helicopter was hit and crashed into the sea. After intercepting radio communication, the pilot’s voice became clear. The pilot is heard saying, "482, I’ve been attacked. I’m going down."

The pilot continues, "There was an explosion, and I got caught in it. It came from the water. Then there was another attack. I don’t know where it went. But the first one hit me directly, and there was an explosion. I felt it on the helicopter. Some systems have failed." Ukraine’s secret agency, GUR, shared the information on Telegram. It stated, “On Tuesday, near Cape Tarkhankut on the western coast of Crimea, a Magura V5 sea drone equipped with missiles attacked a Russian Mi-8 helicopter.”
