Bangladesh (The Uttam Hindu) : In a dramatic turn of events, Rabbi Alam, a close aide of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and vice president of the United States Awami League, made a bold statement on Wednesday, raising alarms over the current political situation in Bangladesh. He claimed that the country was under attack and urged the international community to intervene. Alam also made a controversial remark, calling on Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to Bangladesh’s interim government, to "go back where he came from," while declaring that Sheikh Hasina would return to power as Bangladesh’s Prime Minister.

Alam's Bold Statement:

Rabbi Alam's statements came at a time of increasing political tension in Bangladesh, where the nation has been witnessing a surge in protests, unrest, and calls for electoral reforms. In his public address, Alam expressed deep concern about the state of the nation and described the ongoing political climate as a "direct attack" on Bangladesh’s democracy. “The situation in our country is dire. We are under attack from within and outside. This is not just a political crisis; it is an attack on the very soul of Bangladesh,” said Alam. He further emphasized that the government led by Sheikh Hasina had always been committed to the development and stability of the nation. “Sheikh Hasina has always worked for the welfare of the people, and her leadership has been indispensable. She will return as the Prime Minister, and nothing can stop her,” Alam declared confidently.

Targeting Muhammad Yunus:

Alam did not hold back in criticizing Muhammad Yunus, a prominent economist and the chief advisor of Bangladesh's interim government. Yunus, who is also known for founding the Grameen Bank and winning the Nobel Peace Prize, has been a highly influential figure in Bangladesh's political landscape. Alam sharply rebuked Yunus, saying, “He needs to go back to where he came from. His presence in Bangladesh’s politics is destabilizing. It is time for him to leave, and it is time for true leadership to return.” The statement has been widely regarded as an attack on Yunus’s credibility and influence in the country, further intensifying the political divide.

Call for International Intervention:

In addition to his remarks on Sheikh Hasina’s potential return, Alam also called on the international community to intervene in the current crisis. "The world must pay attention to the situation in Bangladesh. The democracy and sovereignty of our nation are under threat. We need the global community to stand with the people of Bangladesh and help us restore peace and democracy," he urged. Alam’s comments reflect a growing sense of frustration within political circles in Bangladesh, particularly among those loyal to Sheikh Hasina and her party, the Awami League. The opposition, on the other hand, has accused the Awami League of manipulating the country’s electoral process, leading to the calls for international scrutiny and intervention.
