Pakistan President Zardari injured in fall while disembarking from plane
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari suffered a leg fracture while disembarking from a plane on Wednesday night at Dubai International Airport. The incident, which occurred during his arrival, was confirmed by the President's Office on Thursday night. Following the fall, Zardari was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. Doctors examined him and applied a plaster cast to his leg, which they indicated would need to remain on for a month. Fortunately, they assured that his condition poses no serious risk to his health.
Once the plaster was in place, Zardari was released from the hospital with instructions to rest fully at home. Reports from the Pakistani newspaper Dawn highlighted that Zardari has faced various health challenges in the past. Notably, in March of last year, he underwent surgery on one of his eyes in the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, in 2022, he was hospitalized at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital in Karachi for a week due to a chest infection. Despite these previous health issues, Zardari's personal doctor and close aide, Dr. Asim Hussain, took to the social media platform X to reassure the public about the president's well-being, stating that he is in good health following the incident. This information comes as a relief to his supporters and the broader public.
Zardari’s son, Bilawal Bhutto, serves as the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), further emphasizing the family’s significant role in the country’s political landscape. As Zardari recuperates, he will likely continue to stay involved in his official duties while taking the necessary time to recover from his injury.
