Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu returns home following successful surgery
Jerusalem (The Uttam Hindu): Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing prostate removal surger according to a statement from his office. The surgery took place at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem on Sunday and his medical team confirmed that Netanyahu's condition is stable with satisfactory recovery progress. However they noted that he will need a period of recovery and post-surgical monitoring will continue as usual.
Despite the surgery Netanyahu briefly left the hospital on Tuesday to vote in parliament on a critical government tax bill. This was not the first time Netanyahu had undergone medical procedures; earlier this year he had hernia surgery and in July 2023 he was hospitalized for a pacemaker implant due to arrhythmia. Netanyahu, who is 75 has faced scrutiny over his health with some concerns raised about the lack of transparency regarding his medical conditions. He did not release an annual health report for several years though a recent report confirmed that his pacemaker was functioning properly and that he was in a normal state of health.
