Four killed in turkey helicopter crash, eighteen injured in highway Collision
Istanbul (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic helicopter crash in Turkey's Aegean province of Mugla claimed the lives of four people on Sunday. The air ambulance owned by the health ministry collided with a hospital building after losing control due to heavy fog during takeoff. Onboard the helicopter were a pilot a technical staff member a doctor and a healthcare worker all of whom were confirmed dead as reported by NTV broadcaster.The crash occurred near the state hospital in Mugla with local authorities including Governor Idris Akbiyik confirming that the accident happened during the helicopter's takeoff.
In a separate incident eighteen people were injured in a traffic accident in western Turkey. A truck collided with a passenger bus on a highway near the Dinar District of Afyonkarahisar. The injured included the bus driver and 17 passengers. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. The exact timing of the accident remains unclear.
