Donald Trump Appoints Sriram Krishnan as Senior AI Advisor to Strengthen U.S. Leadership in Artificial Intelligence
Washington (The Uttam Hindu): U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Indian American entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and author Sriram Krishnan as the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the White House. This announcement, made on Sunday (December 22, 2024), is part of a series of appointments aimed at strengthening the nation's leadership in AI.
Krishnan, who has an extensive career in the tech industry, has previously led product teams at renowned companies like Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo!, Facebook, and Snap. In his new role, he will work closely with David O. Sacks, who will serve as the White House AI & Crypto Czar. Trump highlighted Krishnan’s experience, stating, "Sriram will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI and help shape and coordinate AI policy across the government, including collaborating with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology."
Krishnan, who began his career as a founding member of Windows Azure at Microsoft, expressed his honor in taking on this new role. He tweeted, "I’m honored to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI, working closely with David Sacks." The appointment has been warmly received by the Indian American community.
