London(The Uttam Hindu): A 24-year-old woman, Harshita Brella, was discovered dead in the boot of a car in East London on November 14 with her husband, 23-year-old Pankaj Lamba, named the prime suspect in her murder. The police believe that Harshita was strangled on the evening of November 10 in Corby, Northamptonshire, before her body was taken to Ilford the following day.

Harshita's mother, Sudesh Kumari, revealed that her daughter had confessed to her weeks before her death that Lamba had threatened to kill her. "He was making her life miserable," Sudesh said. "She said, 'I will not go back to him. He will kill me.'" Harshita was described as a "very simple, very innocent" woman who never fought with anyone.

Harshita's family suspects that Lamba has fled to India after the murder. However, they say Indian authorities have not acted on a request from Northamptonshire Police to arrest him. Sudesh and Harshita's father, Satbir Brella, expressed frustration with the response from Delhi police, saying they were told no official request had been received. "How can we arrest him?" Satbir questioned.

Harshita had earlier informed her father that she was experiencing abuse from Lamba, as reported. On August 29, in the phone call, Harshita cried while telling her father that Lamba had beaten her badly and that a friend would come to rescue her, according to Satbir: "My daughter was crying, crying so hard."

The family now appeals for the authorities in both India and the UK to act quickly so that justice is served.
