Washington (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump, during an event in Florida, called for imposing high tariffs on countries such as India, China, and Brazil. He emphasized that the United States would return to the economic system that had made it a powerful and wealthy nation in the past. Trump stated, "We are going to impose tariffs on countries and foreign entities that seek to harm us. China imposes very high tariffs, and India, Brazil, and other nations follow suit."

The President argued that these countries are pursuing policies that benefit their own economies but are detrimental to the United States. He asserted that America would implement a fair system that would boost the national treasury, making the country prosperous once again. “We will no longer tax our own people to enrich other nations,” Trump said. "Instead, we will tax other countries to make our people richer."

He also suggested that foreign companies seeking to avoid high tariffs should establish their production plants within the United States. Reaffirming his "America First" stance, Trump stated that as tariffs on other countries increase, taxes on American workers and industries would be reduced. He claimed this would lead to the creation of numerous jobs and the establishment of factories within the country.
