Unbelievable! Temple Screen Plays Mother Mary’s Video Instead of Goddess Chhinnamastika
Himanchal Pradesh (The Uttam Hindu): A surprising incident occurred late Wednesday night near the Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple, where a large LED screen was installed for devotees to have online darshan of the goddess. Instead of broadcasting the sacred image of Mata Shri Chhinnamastika, the screen unexpectedly started playing a video of Mother Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. The incident left the devotees and local shopkeepers in shock.
People who had gathered in the market for darshan were stunned to see a religious video from another faith instead of the sacred image of the goddess. Many immediately took out their mobile phones and started recording the event. Within minutes, the video went viral on social media. Devotees and locals expressed their outrage over the incident and lodged complaints.
By the time the temple staff operating the screen realized what had happened, the matter had already reached the district administration. Una Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jatin Lal took the incident seriously and ordered an immediate investigation.
The DC stated, "We have learned that a video or wallpaper related to another religion was mistakenly played on the screen installed for live darshan at the Chintpurni temple. The SDM has been directed to investigate the matter, and appropriate action will be taken against those responsible."
According to sources, the LED screen used for the online darshan of the goddess is usually turned off only during the decoration of the sacred idol. On Wednesday night, the screen was also turned off during the decoration, but during this time, the video of Mother Mary was broadcast. This caused resentment among the devotees, who demanded an explanation from the temple administration. DC Jatin Lal assured, "The technical team has been instructed to ensure that such mistakes do not happen in the future. Whatever the reason behind this incident, it will be revealed soon, and those responsible will face action."
The incident has become a major topic of discussion, with locals considering it an act of disrespect to the sanctity of the temple. The administration has assured swift measures to control the situation and calm the anger of the devotees.
