Toilet dispute turns deadly in Delhi's Govindpuri: Fatal stabbing over unflushed toilet sparks violent clash, neighbours detained
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A fatal altercation erupted in Delhi's Govindpuri after a disagreement over a common toilet not being flushed. The incident involved a scrap worker, Sudheer, who succumbed to multiple stab wounds after a violent confrontation with his neighbours.
On Saturday, Sudheer, his 22-year-old brother Prem, and their friend Sagar clashed with Bhikam Singh, his wife Meena, and their three sons—Sanjay, 20, Rahul, 18, and a minor—over the issue. The dispute escalated into a violent fight, with both sides using rods and knives. Sudheer was severely injured with stab wounds to his chest, head, and face. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he later died from his injuries, while Prem is receiving treatment and Sagar was discharged after medical attention.
Sagar Malik, a neighbour, shared with the media that Bhikam Singh’s family had initially called the police, claiming that their mother had been attacked. A murder case has been filed, and Bhikam Singh along with his family have been detained for investigation. Sudheer, originally from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, had been renting the house for ₹3,000 per month, which he shared with his brother, an e-rickshaw driver. Bhikam Singh, who had moved into the building 45 days prior, worked at a building materials shop.
