New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened applications for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2024. This initiative aims to provide financial support to academically outstanding female students who are the only child in their families, enabling them to continue their education without financial obstacles. The application process is now live, and eligible candidates can apply until December 23, 2024. The scholarship offers financial assistance of ₹500 per month to qualifying students.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Single Girl Child Scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
>The student must be a single girl child, meaning she is the only child of her parents.
>She should have scored at least 60% in the Class 10 board examination held in 2024.
>The applicant must currently be enrolled in Class 11 or Class 12 at a CBSE-affiliated school.
>Only Indian nationals are eligible for this scholarship.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:
>Visit the CBSE official website: cbse.gov.in.
>Go to the scholarship section and select "Single Girl Child Scholarship X-2024 REG."
>Choose between submitting a fresh application or renewing the scholarship if awarded in 2023.
>Complete the application form by providing details such as roll number and date of birth.
>Upload required documents, including a verified Class 10 mark sheet and an Aadhaar-linked bank account.
>Submit the application and save a copy for reference.
Financial Details
The scholarship provides Rs 500 per month for a maximum of two years. Tuition fees for Class 10 should not exceed Rs 1,500 per month, with a 10% permissible increase for Classes 11 and 12. For NRI students studying abroad, the tuition fee cap is set at Rs 6,000 per month.
