Mysuru (The Uttam Hindu): A leopard was spotted on the Infosys Mysuru campus on December 31, prompting the company to implement a work-from-home arrangement for its employees. The administration also instructed all trainees to stay indoors for their safety. The sighting led to an operation by forest department officials to capture the animal.

In an internal communication, Infosys informed its employees that a wild animal had been seen on the Mysuru DC campus and efforts were underway to ensure safety in collaboration with a task force. Employees were requested to work from home, and the security team was directed not to allow anyone inside the campus. "Dear Infoscion, a wild animal has been spotted on the Mysuru DC campus today. Efforts are underway to ensure campus safety in collaboration with the task force," the company said. Forest Department officials confirmed that the leopard was spotted on CCTV around 2 AM on Tuesday.

The team arrived at the site around 4 AM and initiated a combing operation to locate the animal. Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), IB Prabhu Gowda, was quoted as saying, "A leopard was spotted on a CCTV camera at around 2 AM on Tuesday. Our team reached the spot at around 4 AM. We have launched a combing operation to trace the leopard." This is not the first time a leopard has entered the Infosys campus. In 2011, a similar incident occurred. The Infosys Mysuru campus, located near the Hebbal Industrial Area, is close to a reserve forest, which is home to leopards. Forest department officials believe the leopard may have strayed from its natural habitat in search of food. Infosys has also instructed all its trainees to remain indoors for safety. "The training schedule will be pushed by a day. Please be in your hostel rooms and utilize this day for self-study," an internal communication to trainees stated.
