Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): The long-awaited Vande Bharat Express trial run between Jammu and Kashmir's Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar has finally been successfully completed. A major highlight of the trial was the train’s passage over the world’s highest railway bridge, the Chenab Bridge. Additionally, the train also crossed India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge, the Anji Khaad Bridge. This Vande Bharat Express has been specially designed considering the chilly climate of the Kashmir Valley.

A video of the trial run has surfaced, showing the train as it crosses the Chenab Bridge offering a breathtaking view. The Vande Bharat Express stands out from other trains in the country due to several unique features. Most notably, it has been tailored to withstand the cold weather. The train is equipped with a high-quality heating system that prevents water pipes and the bio-toilet tank from freezing, a common issue in icy regions that often causes discomfort to passengers.

Another remarkable feature of this train is its speed. It will cover the 190-kilometer journey from Katra to Srinagar in just three hours, saving valuable time for passengers. While the official date for regular operations of the train has yet to be announced, the success of the trial run has sparked great excitement among locals and tourists alike. Many believe that the introduction of this train will significantly boost tourism in Jammu and Kashmir and improve connectivity, contributing to the region's economic development.
