New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- Two flights carrying 119 Indian immigrants deported from the US will land at Amritsar's Guru Ram Dass International Airport on February 15 and 16. Officials said both flights will land at 10:05 am.


Most of these deported migrants are from Punjab. According to information, these include 67 from Punjab, 33 from Haryana, 8 from Gujarat, 3 from Uttar Pradesh, 2 from Maharashtra, 2 from Goa, 2 from Rajasthan and 1 each from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. The people being deported tried to enter the US illegally through Mexico and other routes. According to officials, these people allegedly tore their passports after entering the US. Following Donald Trump's order, people trying to enter the US illegally are being deported after being caught. This will be the second flight to India carrying deported migrants.


Earlier on February 5, a US military aircraft landed in Amritsar, Punjab, carrying 104 illegal immigrants who had gone to America from various states. These included 33 people from Haryana, 33 from Gujarat, 30 from Punjab, 3 each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh and 2 from Chandigarh. Some of the deported people claimed that their hands and feet were tied with handcuffs and shackles during the entire journey and they were freed only after landing in Amritsar. After this, there was a lot of uproar in the whole country.
