Trump Administration Warned India, Offered Deal to Stop Buying Weapons from Russia

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): America is imposing heavy tariffs on many countries including India. At the same time, America has now started raising questions on India's defense system. A minister of the Trump government has objected to India's purchase of weapons from Russia.

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has called on India to end its dependence on Russian military weapons and argued that such a move is necessary to strengthen relations between India and the US. Lutnick said, "India has historically bought a significant amount of its military equipment from Russia and we think this is something that needs to end."
